After graduating from the University of Iowa in 2000, I realized corporate life wasn’t for me. By 2003, I traded the suit and tie for tattoo machines and began my career in Phoenix, Arizona. A year later, I returned to the Council Bluffs/Omaha area to continue honing my craft, working in two local shops before opening Black Squirrel Tattoo in 2010—and I haven’t looked back since.
Versatility is one of my greatest strengths. I enjoy working in both color and black & grey, with a focus on clean line work, solid saturation, and smooth shading. My favorite projects often draw from Japanese themes, portraits, and neo-traditional influences, and I also enjoy the challenge of creating successful coverups.
Outside of work, I’m an avid toy collector, gamer, and a fan of 80s pop culture. I love making a playlist, bike rides, and spending time with my dachshunds.
