FAQ & Deposit Policy

Not in the traditional sense. We operate with a closed lobby and typically work by appointment for tattoos and consultations. However, we do our best to accommodate same-day appointments whenever availability allows. Please submit a booking request, and we’ll get in touch as soon as possible.You can also call us at 712-256-7033 to check for same-day walk-in availability.

At this time do not do any piercing or carry any jewelry. 

You must be 18 to enter the shop. We do not allow children in the shop. This includes underage teens, toddlers, and infants. 

You must be 18 or older to be tattooed in our shop, as required by Iowa state law.

A valid government-issued ID is required—accepted forms include a State ID, Driver’s License, Passport, or Military ID.

Absolutely! They can be any amount and can only be used at our location. Please contact us at bstiowa@gmail.com to set up a time to pick one up.

Please have a clear concept of what you want. Have your references ready and accessible. Know your availability. We will also require a cash deposit to book your appointment.

Yes, we do offer apprenticeships. However, it’s important to understand that an apprenticeship is not something to be taken lightly—it is not fast, easy, or free. That said, it can be incredibly rewarding for those willing to put in the work.

To be considered, start by developing a strong portfolio of your artwork. While any type of art can be included, focus on pieces that translate well to tattooing—clean line work, smooth shading, solid color, and an understanding of color theory will make a big difference.

Deposit Policy

  • All initial appointments require a non-refundable deposit.
  • Small tattoos require a $60 deposit, applied toward your tattoo.
  • Tattoos taking 3+ hours but completed in a single session require a $100 deposit.
  • Larger, multi-session projects (½ sleeves, sleeves, back pieces, etc.) require a minimum $200 deposit, with the exact amount depending on the scope of the piece. For these projects, $100 will be applied to your first session, and the remaining $100 will be carried over as a deposit for consecutive appointments. This final portion will be applied to your last session upon completion of the tattoo.
  • Deposits are forfeited and paid out to your artist in the following situations:
  • No-show.
  • Less than 48 hours’ notice to reschedule. (If proper notice is given, your deposit will be transferred to your new appointment. You have 90 days to reschedule. Three consecutive reschedules may still result in forfeiture, even with notice.)
  • Canceling the tattoo entirely.
  • Scheduling an appointment and you are not 18 at the time of your appointment.
  • Arriving without valid ID (must be state-issued, passport, or military ID).
  • Being sunburned in the area to be tattooed, with no alternative placement possible.
  • Arriving late to the point that your appointment must be rescheduled (a new deposit will be required).
